Our recent remodel in Pasadena aimed to preserve the home’s historic charm while enhancing its functionality and aesthetics through custom craftsmanship. Our plan involved a second-story addition, a dormer remodel and restoration, and a complete remodeling of the original first story. The finished home blends timeless design elements with modern amenities, creating a unique and comfortable living space. Read more about the full home remodel and our custom-built design solutions.
This Pasadena home already exuded historic elegance – we intended to unveil this beauty with thoughtfully planned design and careful craftsmanship. The remodeled first floor features a living room, formal dining room, guest bathroom, two bedrooms, and a kitchen with a breakfast banquet. Marvin wood windows and custom woodwork were incorporated throughout the floor, including wood casing around the windows, doors, and openings. We also included custom wood baseboards and picture railing around the room’s perimeter, adding a stylish touch to this Pasadena home remodeling project.
We wanted to ensure that this kitchen design was aesthetically beautiful and functional for modern living. We included cabinetry, a custom pantry, and a built-in Corian Stone sink that seamlessly transitions into the countertop. The cabinetry and pantry add exceptional organization and beauty, while the Corian Stone sink brings a sense of refinement and durability, making it the perfect addition to the kitchen remodel.
The kitchen backsplash is made of natural stone with medallion pieces, enhancing the space’s elegance. Copper-colored handles and faucets add to the unique design choices of this Pasadena home remodeling project.
Seamlessly blending utility and polish, the guest bathroom on the first floor includes a built-in cabinet, a tub-shower combo, and green subway tile for a clean and vibrant look.
The formal dining room showcases custom millwork and wood detailing that wraps around the room, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The room also features molding that hides strip lighting to set a soft, ambient mood.
Our Pasadena home remodeling project also included remodeling the original fireplace on the first floor. Stained original bricks, a unique drywall-shaped chimney cover, and Zia handmade artisanal tile on the hearth created a one-of-a-kind character. Incorporating medallion pieces complemented the overall design.
We created a luxurious primary suite on the second floor with a spacious bedroom, laundry room, and a beautifully designed primary bathroom. The bedroom features custom built-ins, including a bench with drawers, finished in custom colors to match the home’s unique aesthetic. Double French doors open into the primary bedroom and bathroom.
The primary bathroom is a true sight to behold. It boasts a drop-in tub, custom vanity, a large walk-in shower, and a separate toilet room. These custom-made features from our Pasadena home remodeling project merge practicality and luxury, creating a beautiful bathroom oasis.
The bathroom’s tile is a stunning combination of green subway tiles, natural stone, medallion tiles, and mosaic borders. The Caesarstone quartz countertop enhances the luxurious feel. Thoughtfully planned material selections with this bathroom remodel add elegance and forge a cohesive look between the second-story addition and the complete remodeling of the original first story.
Skylights throughout the second floor bring in natural light, and each skylight is outfitted with molding that hides LED strip lights, creating mood lighting. The second floor also features vaulted ceilings that make the space feel larger and more open, boosting the overall sense of comfort and luxury.
Custom woodwork, including Marvin wood windows and red oak hardwood flooring, extends throughout the second floor. This blends beautifully with the home’s custom craftsmanship.
Our recent Pasadena home remodeling project also included beautiful work on the home’s staircase and railing to complement the second-story addition and first-floor remodel. Custom white oak railing on the stairs adds an elegant touch to the entryway. The staircase is finished with a custom skirt that features cloud corbel details. These details mirror the custom corbel designs found on the front porch and, creating a cohesive and polished look throughout the house.
The exterior of this Pasadena home remodeling project showcases historic charisma and beauty. It features wood shingle siding and an asphalt roof, maintaining the home’s classic style. Meanwhile, the front porch was remodeled with custom-designed pony walls, columns, and corbel details, all finished in custom wood for a cohesive look that ties back to the interior craftsmanship.
This Pasadena home remodeling project also included restoring the original 1920s dormer. We preserved the window and added custom corbel rafter tail details as part of the dormer remodel. These details match the design of the porch and the skirt of the stairs.
Our recent Pasadena home remodeling project is a testament to expert craftsmanship. It blends the historic charm of the original structure with modern functionality and detailed custom designs. From the custom cabinetry to the refined woodwork, unique lighting features, vaulted ceilings, complete remodeling of the original first story, and the remodeled dormer, this home is a beautiful example of the timeless appeal of craftsmanship.
